Walk and Roll to School Day

Weibel's first "Walk and Roll to School Day" is coming up on October 5th!

If you haven't ever used foot or pedal power to get to school, this is a fun way to try it out as a community. The benefits of walking/riding are many: exercise and time outdoors before class improves kids' concentration, it is great for their bodies and digestion, reduces vehicle traffic and the frustrations that go with it, creates awareness of our neighborhood and social opportunities with neighbors, and it gives parents a chance to connect with their children without distractions.

http://www.treehugger.com/culture/kids-who-walk-school-have-better-concentration.html

Let's make this a record-breaking year for non-motorized commutes! If anyone would like to help me with head counts/rewards for the kids the morning of October 5th, please let me know.

Christina Byard, Walk and Roll Volunteer Coordinator Crbyard@gmail.com
