Golden Sneaker Contest

Golden Sneaker Contest at Weibel to start Monday March 7 and run thru Friday March 18. In the Golden Sneaker Contest, classrooms keep track of how many students get to school by walking, biking, taking the bus, or carpooling. Classrooms with the highest level of participation receive a Golden Sneaker trophy.
The two-week contest promotes healthy kids and a healthy environment, building awareness of transportation alternatives to reduce carbon and greenhouse gas emissions from vehicles, as well as teamwork and school spirit.
The Golden Sneaker contest is promoted by Safe Routes to School, Alameda County.

The winner of contest last year was Mrs. Somer Sanui's 2nd grade class.

Weibel Safety Patrol Needs Help

The morning safety patrol is a special place. It is where most of our families meet the rest of the community and start off a new day. As a volunteer, you can help to kick start their day just a bit easier. This kind gesture will be carried by the parents into the morning commute, into their workplace, into their home. Doesn't this make you smile knowing that you can help to make a difference in this world?
Currently, we have 15 volunteers. Last year we had 18. 7 of us moved on at the beginning of the 2015-2016 school year, and 4 parents joined. Now, we are divided into 5 groups. This way each group will serve a little less than 1 week each month. You will come between 8:00 and 8:25 during your monthly rotation. Your main job is to help the kids come out of their cars safely and keeping the drop-off parents in the driver's seat. When the weather is good, several 5th graders and 6th graders will also join us. It is also your job to keep them safe and cheers them up. Please join us now! You will get a big smile from me!
Cheers,
Kor Tse

Noon Supervisors still needed - Paid Positions (PTO will reimburse for TB test and fingerprinting - contact: info@weibelpto.org)

Do you enjoy interacting with children and have a talent for helping them solve problems in a fair way? We need adults like you to assist with lunchtime supervision. Moms, dads, grandparents, anyone over 21 is welcome to join us. This is really a fun way to connect with your child and their friends. The more adults we have, the safer our lunch time will be!
This can be either a paid or a committed volunteer position. If you can commit to at least one day a week from 11:25 AM to 12:50, please email Mrs. Strommen (cstrommen@fremont.k12.ca.us)
Even those times are a little flexible, and you don’t have to commit to 5 days per week. A current (last 30 days) TB test and fingerprinting are required.
The PTO will reimburse for these cost. Please contact: info@weibelpto.org for more info.
